It's exciting to write my first post on this blog! I have to thank my friend Catrina for inspiring me to start one and helping me remember my deep joy of writing and sharing. I had the impetus to begin today because it was my first day back in San Francisco after an amazing soul journey/adventure in Hawaii over the last month. I also attended a wonderful daylong at Spirit Rock Meditation center on Writing as a Spiritual Practice. It is really travel and adventuring down the spiritual path that have inspired me to write. Really both travel and spirituality are one and the same for me as they both teach and transform me in ways I cannot completely explain but hope to put into words in this blog.

I'm writing to share about my experience with the 'road less traveled'. For me, this means the road I have taken through meditation, yoga and other spiritual practices to travel back to my heart and to better understand myself. It is also about the many roads I've taken to travel to places around the world and learn more externally about people, culture, religion and the amazing mystery of living! Both roads provide me so many lessons, insights and exciting stories and I've decided it's time to share them.

One of the biggest insights from my trip to Hawaii is that this life is meant to be shared. It is truly the people in our lives who make life worth living. Shared experience and shared humanity make taking the road less traveled a little easier and definitely more fun!! I'm grateful for all the amazing souls I met on my Hawaiian adventure and for all the wonderful people who have been riding with me on this road of life!!

I'll leave you with a quote hanging on my wall:
"The measure of a life is not position or wealth or even wisdom. But the few kindred souls who share our dreams, passages, triumphs and tears. Whose laughter is our music, whose faces warm us, whose hearts comfort and console us. They are our friends, and every life is measured...by this possession alone." (-Lynn)
